Clark County Historical Museum
The Clark County Historical Society and Museum is committed to responsible collections stewardship, innovative collaboration and inspiring exhibitions and programs that engage the community in an exploration of Clark County’s past, present and future.
For GiveMore24! the Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM) wants to know about your place in history! Our Museum is more than the building that holds our important objects, artifacts, and archives. It’s also where we store our community’s memories. That said, many of our memories are tied to a place. We are calling on you to share a place in Clark County where you connect with history, whether it’s a larger story, a place to preserve, or your own personal journey. We are looking for participants to send us a photo and a single sentence to show AND tell us about their place in history. Snap a selfie or take a photo of the location in Clark County that is your place in history. Send the photo to us with a single sentence describing why the history of this place is important to you. You can send these to [email protected] we will share them on social media to show Clark County why history is important and why they should support our museum on SW Washington’s Day of Giving. Below are a few categories we've come up with to help you choose your place: · Big Picture: What location tells a larger story that you connect with? Do you love the Fort because it tells the narrative of change in the Northwest? Is Pearson Air Museum near and dear to your heart because you love aviation history? Do you love Officers Row because you’re a military history buff? · A Place to Save: Are there historical or important places you believe we can’t forget or lose? Are there buildings with architectural elements that tell a story of a different time? Is there a space in nature that tells a story longer than written memory? · My Place: Is there a place, no matter how new or old, that tells your story? Maybe it’s the spot where you met the love of your life? It could possibly be the location where you found your life’s calling? Is there some place you’ve returned to time and again to create your history? At CCHM we gather, preserve, and share our community's stories and memories. That is our place in history. That is why you support us!
