Southwest Washington Symphony
For the past 51 years, Southwest Washington Symphony (SWWS) musicians have enjoyed enriching the cultural life of Southwest Washington by performing four concerts each year for the community and three free Children’s Concerts for over 2,400 elementary students. SWWS seeks to ensure all musical forms of a classic nature are preserved, passed on and made accessible to all generations. Particular emphasis is placed on symphonic repertoire and music that is representative of all cultures and eras. This is accomplished through education, mentoring, and performances reflecting the highest quality of history’s greatest music. In addition, the SWWS and the Auxiliary provide scholarships to youth in our community.
Funds are needed to support the four concerts that will be performed during the 51st Season in 2017-2018. We would like more guests to come and enjoy the fantastic live music produced and performed in our community all season long. Therefore, all concerts next season will be FREE! That makes our fundraising efforts more important than ever! We will educate our audience regarding the fiscal needs of the Symphony and ask for and gratefully accept donations at every concert. Give More 24! funds will be used to acquire the music, rent the rehearsal and performance venues, advertise the concerts, pay the conductor, concert master and auxiliary musicians, and pay administrative expenses.
