Watershed Alliance of Southwest WA
The mission of Vancouver Watersheds Alliance is to educate and engage community members to be active stewards of the Vancouver area’s natural legacy, with a focus on creeks, lakes, and other water bodies.
Help keep our local creeks, river and streams clean! It is more important than ever to protect the quality of our waters. Donations will be used to grow and expand our projects within the community around urban water health. This allows us to: *Give kids and people of all ages more experiences being outdoors and getting their hands dirty in the natural environment and importantly having fun! * Remove more Ivy and Blackberries from parks/greenspaces and plant more native trees/shrubs along our creeks, which all improves water quality and habitat in the creeks * Have more projects like the Main St. storm drain murals. Most of the Watershed Alliance work is done in the riparian (Creekside), backyards, parks, but the Storm Drain Murals took awareness of the natural environment to the core of downtown in art, bringing awareness to the fact that everything that goes down our storm drains flows directly into our creeks and rivers unfiltered-reminding everyone “Only rain down the drain” We are bringing exciting new projects to our community and increase our current efforts. All donations we receive today will help move the Watershed Alliance forward. We invite you to join us in your support for clean water in SW WA.
